A while back I posted a thread on my S2 had no display n the viewfider or LCD display. After a short stay at Canon (about 8 days) it came back with the followig info: Explanation of Repairs: A complete repair and return to all functions to factory specs.

Parts used: Lens assy & associated parts.

Not a lot to go on but the camera now works fine, it even seems the lens assy. operates smoother than before. Just figured I'd give a followup.

*ditto* (had same problem) I am getting my camera back today. I was kind of surprised to find out they shipped it back to me Fedex 2-day service too, since I was really hoping to get it back by Sat this week and didn't think I would!

That's good news because I just shipped mine yesterday and was nervous about getting it back before a vacation in July. My problem is that images are coming out vertical when taken horizontally. Something wrong with the orientation sensor.

I have the same problem- no display in view finder or LCD. Called Canon then had to ship mine away for repairs. At least I know there is a fix for the problem and they know what it is. They received mine on 7/11/06 hope it gets repaired and returned soon.

I missed the Fed Ex return delivery of my S2. Will have to wait 1 more day to see if the repairs worked. Darn I have missed this camera.

Replaced optical unit- Updated firmware - cleaned and checked all functions.

Seems to be back to working order.
