DSC-T1 Format Error

I know my camera (Sony Cybershot DSC-T1) is a little out dated, but does anyone have any helpful information in regards to Format Error C:13:01??? Obviously the camera is out of warranty, and it seems to repair this error at the manufacturer will cost a MINIMUM of $175 (just to evaluate it and if it falls under normal repairs, what's normal??). So I'm to the cross road of do I buy a new one or can this be fixed with some type of download or something, anything? These digital cameras are turning out to be expensive disposable digitals!!!
