Any Difference between Digital and regular UV filters?

I'm going to pickup my sigma 18-200 tomorrow morning for my D50! Now I need to get a 62mm filter. Since this is a relatively slow lens, I want to get a UV filter that wont decrease the light much (if at all).

Are there any differences between the digital filter lens and the regular lens filters? IF not, then I'll just get the $8 Tiffen from Amazon.

Why do you want a UV filter on digital? ;-) OK forget that I won't start the argument again...


The 'Digital' filter thing is a bit of a scam IMO, but that said a more expensive multi coated filter (on high quality glass) is going decrease the light (and overall quality of the picture) less than a cheap filter...
