This link contains my first few shots with Canon S1 IS.
These are taken in "AUTO" and "P" mode. No manual settings
at all. No extra lenses fitted. No tripod used. I have uploaded
10X Optical zoom and 32X digital zoom pictures and close up shots.

the pictures you took look rather nice - do not see any/ or much noise

What can you suggest for indoor pics
p- mode - iso 50

it seems auto looks prety good for outdoors

I have only had my camera for 1 week
I love it, - seems to have a little tough time indoors low light
but not too bad...

Nice pic of the moon. I have the same camera and after a few dozen pics I found the best setting was a manual setting of 1/2000 and F8.0 (iso of 400).I find it hard to believe that your pic was taken on auto or 'p'.

I`m not calling you a liar of course ;) - I`m just impressed! No wobble either - a perfect sphere.

Nice pics and shows what the camera is capable of.

I have taken some night shot pictures in AUTO mode, which I am not impressed. P-mode with ISO 50 as you said, looks OK for me. But I never got a good moving picture in the night.

Even I am very impressed by some outdoor AUTO shots. Really works for closeup shoots too. But you should give some time for the camera. For that "Mosanda.jpg" in my site, I took around a minute in AUTO mode to get the correct focus.
May be because my hand was shakey.

I'm sure you'll have a good time with it!!!!!

I'm glad that you like those pictures. All were taken in AUTO and P mode. I will try your manual settings. For the moon, I took around 10 photos to get 1 correct. "To get a perfect Moon is not easy without a tripod". But I got it..
I will upload some more shots taken in the night soon. All taken in indoor with Manual & AUTO settings...

I am sure this post will help S1 IS beginers and people who wants to decide to buy or not.
