Hi all,

Have been using my FZ20 on spot a little lately and it seems to be a very unusual spot mode. My idea of a spot meter is that it makes anything you point it at middle grey. This one seems to leave the exposure pretty much the same as normal.

What do people think? And suggestions for what to do about it?

Spot mode uses only the centre of the display to decide metering, I prefer centre weighted where it prioritises the centre of the image but takes account of the whole screen, I used to use this with my SLR kit I guess old habit.

I think I know what you are talking about but I am not sure it was actually called spot metering (although I may be wrong), my Minolta kit had a balance setting where you pointed the camera at a mid tone and it metered from that.
