Just got the FZ3 today and was looking through the owner's manual. Has anyone here messed with flip animation? It sounds like it might be kinda cool.

I think the real photographers are only interested in taking still pictures in "M" mode, using spot metering and using manual focus. The flip animation etc are for kids.
Just kidding.. Well I have not reached that point after 10 days of owning it. I have not even tested the video part of it.

You have to remember that you're brought a Still Camera first and a Video Camera second!
I have tested the video mode and it serves its purpose, but can't say I running about looking for things to film :)

It seems like a cool idea. I certainly didn't buy the camera to make movies but this just has a neat factor to it. I remember when I was a kid, I tried making a stop motion dinosaur movie with my Dad's Super 8mm camera.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there will be times when this feature is great fun :) It is pretty cool that you can record for the full capability of your SD Card.
