Anyone know an actual date the stores will have it in stock? I am trying really hard to be patient, but I thought it was supposed to be available mid May.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. So does anyone have any idea WHY the release date has been pushed back for the US when it has already been released in other countries? Are there quality issues on the models that have already been released the Fuji is trying to fix?

That is exciting. You will have to let us all know what you think when you get it! I really enjoyed your F10 gallery.

Every online store that I have checked does not have the F30 in stock yet. Someone on eBay is selling them for a reasonble price direct from Japan. However, I saw on buydig.com that they were in stock, and I called. The customer service rep said that indeed they were in stock. I was sceptacle and didn't purchase it from them. Has anyone ordered anything from buydig.com? They seem to have a high review rating at Yahoo shopping...

I have bought my last two digital cameras from them and have been very happy. Very smooth ordering process and extremely fast shipping. Both times I had my order within 72 hours of placing it (not counting weekends, of course). The only reason I am hesitating this time is because B&H photo is listing the F30 for $60 less, however they do not have it in stock yet.

Just saw the first commercial for the F30 / V10 last night. They should be in the stores here in the states soon.

I pre-ordered the F30 from Henry's back in April and I just picked it up from the post office yesterday, so I think that it's officially been "released" although Henry's web site still says that it's on order (perhaps their initial stock have been already been snapped up by people who pre-ordered?).
I also saw it at Lens & Shutter, a camera store here in Vancouver, yesterday.

just purchased from digitalfotoclub.com in-stock for $366, not the lowest shipping but very competitive prices for their other accessories (memory cards, etc) and a good low cost extended warranty (considering I've dropped or broken my last 3 digital cameras). You may find it lower priced elsewhere but they are probably not in stock...

sjseto...i also live in vancouver (well...surrey). I was wondering where you saw the f30 in vancouver, and how much it was?
And if you don't mind answering...did you have to pay duty/tax on the one you ordered? How much was the total price? I want to order one, but want to get it as cheap as possible, from a reputable dealer. Any suggestions? Thanks

B&H Photo - $339 - you will likely have to back order it. Took a week for me. no duty, just GST when shipped to PEI. Shipping was around $30. bought an XD reader too.

Hi Rocky,
I saw the F30 at the Lens & Shutter (http://www.lensandshutter.com/) on West Broadway in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago. I didn't notice the price (and it isn't listed on their Web site), but it was probably $499.99 CAN, because that's what it is just about everywhere else that I've been able to find it (in Canada). It's also listed on the Kerrisdale Cameras (http://www.kerrisdalecamera.com/) site. You also might want to call Broadway Camera (http://www.bccamera.com/). The F30 isn't listed on their site yet, but they often sell cameras for a bit less than other Vancouver retailers.
I pre-ordered mine from Henry's (http://www.henrys.com/) in May, which I think is the only reason I was able to receive it so soon after it was released. I only had to pay GST (no PST, since they're in Ontario and I'm in BC) and shipping. The camera was $489.99 CAN, shipping was $9.95, and tax was $35.00, for a total of $534.94.
Yes, you can order it for considerably less (especially now since the Canada/U.S. exchange rate is so good) from one of the U.S. dealers like B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/) or Adorama (http://www.adorama.com/). Adorama seems to have the F30 in stock at the moment, for $339.95 US; B&H is currently out of stock. I like both stores and have ordered from them in the past with no complaints. But I was worried about what would happen if I had to send the camera back for warranty repairs, or if I didn't want to keep the camera (I was ordering sight unseen, and I'd only read one review up until that point). It just seemed like too much trouble to have to send it back over the border.

thank you for your reply! I think i will order it off of Adorama and see how that goes. But since the $50 rebate is available only in USA, does that that mean theres no way i can get it? Thanks for the quick responses guys.

The rebate form says you must be living in the United States or the Caribbean Islands, so, no, we wouldn't qualify. Oh well, you got a great deal anyway. :) Enjoy your F30!

Hello Everyone,
I just got my F30 and took some shots at night; however, I realized that using the night mode, the ISO, though Auto, only goes up to 200. I was surprised, although I'm sure the pictures would look much better if I were able to use a higher ISO.
Is there a way to go around that? Please note, that I am not a professional photographer and still not very experienced with manual settings.
Also, the pictures looked great on the LCD, but dimmer on the computer. That because the LCD is brighter than usual. Is there a way to get the same quality of picture on the computer ;).
Thanks in advance,
Georges

Set your LCD to -3, that will help.
I never use the night or other modes (unless in a rush and am willing to let the cam decide). Try M or Aperature or Shutter priority, I like M. Select your ISO, or use ISO Auto1600, it will shoot at up to 1600, whatever is needed for the light available. I like to just select the ISO and see if I can hand hold it for a good shot and use the lowest ISO I can. Good luck.
