Greetings,

So I went into my Dixons (http://www.dixons.co.uk) retail outlet today to ask about what deal they could do for me on the Canon SD550 (Ixus 750 in the UK).

The sales assistant pulled out the Cannon SD630 (Ixus 65 in the UK) and said that it was a better camera.

I noted that it was 6 MP and he said yes but it depends on the resolution that the camera can take pictures at. He said that a 7MP camera might not have the same resolution as a 6MP.

I am confused and have never received such advise. Is it true?

Steve's Reviews respective reviews of the two cameras say:

7 Megapixel CCD sensor for up to 3072x2304 pixel images

6 Megapixel CCD sensor for up to 2816x2112 pixel images

Am I missing something here or was the sales assistant being weird? Other than the obvious changes in shape between the two and the larger screen on the SD660 / Ixus 65, and presumably less clearer pictures (in terms of Megapixels), why would one purchase the SD660?

Thanks in advance
