Hey all. I need help  I have never bought a digital camera before. I need help finding a digital camera that has a rotating screen so I can see myself when I take photos of myself, shoots video clips, 4 megapixel or so, under $400. Thanks for reading & please let me know! :o Here is my survey:
What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? Please be as specific as possible. : $400 gift card to Best Buy. Looking to spend around $100-$300 though if possible, but if I can't find the right one I can spend up to the full $400.
What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you? Just average.
How many megapixels will suffice for you? 3-5 megapixel. I'll definitely want to print 4x6's and maybe some 5x7s and 8x10s once in awhile.
What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x, Other - Specify) standard is fine
How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10) image quality is important because i want to photoshop and print photos. So i'll rate this a 8-9.
Do you care for manual controls? not necessary, but would be an added bonus
What will you generally use the camera for? photographing friends and family, photoshopping, printing, posting online, taking photos of myself, concerts, family events
Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? maybe occasional 5x7s or 8x10s
Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? sometimes yes, inside photos and concerts too
Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? not often, but sometimes at concerts where there is moving people, so yes on occasion
Are there particular brands you like or hate? no
Are there particular models you already have in mind? no
(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD) I think rotating LCD.- This is my special request if its what you're referring to. I am looking for a camera that you can rotate the screen so when you are taking a photo of yourself (holding the camera yourself at arms length) you can see the image. I had an old camera that used to do this and it was great for taking profile photos because I could see myself in the screen and adjust myself to suit what I saw. This is an important feature for me.
-I'm also looking for a camera that shoots little videos that can be used with windows movie maker and posted online. Nothing too high-quality, just good enough to have sound & color and make short video clips.
-It would be great to have a camera that loads the pix through a usb cable and doesn't need any crazy extra software either.
Thank you for any advice you can give me!!! I'm hoping to go to Best Buy in 2-3 days, so please help me out if you have any thoughts. Thanks!
