Three questions:
1. Do you send your photos to a photolab or do you print them yourself?
2. If you do send them to a photolab, who do you use?
3. If you use a printer, which one do you use?
I have a Canon i850 printer which is a few years old and it just can't compare to photolab results :( .
I have used Shutterfly in the past and I just sent some pics to York Photo which someone suggested to me.

Epson PM4000-PX (Japanese model; I think it's the PM-2000 elsewhere).
I have little incentive to go out to get pictures printed; I like the flexibility of being able to tweak prints to my heart's content here at home, and knowing the results are going to be relatively consistent. The only reason I would need or want to go outside is for prints larger than stretch A3.

I used to print myself - But I've spent 4 times what my i960 [excellent photo quality] cost. It just got way too expensive to print myself - add in the limited print options.
I now use smugmug for most of my printing. I've used shutterfly in the past they aren't so bad - its just that they use cheap envelopes to send your prints and I was tired of them getting damaged - my last smugmug order was sent the very same way it was damaged as well - they are reprinting [at no cost to me] like shutterfly will do but still - I don't want to have them to reprint and reship - I'd like to be able to select a higher priced more sturdy shipping method - thats why I'm still looking for an online lab.
I'm going to be giving myphotopipe.com a go. . . .
People like mpix - their order system is a little screwy though. . .
Others have also liked adoramas printing. . . so you have options!

Self:
8x10 and smaller - Epson Stylus Photo 870
11 x 17 and 13 x 19 - Epson 2000P
Outside:
Larger than 13 x 19 Mesa Photo (uses an Epson 7800).
I rarely print smaller than 8x10.
Self...
Canon i9900 (soon to be Pro 9500)
If I found a lab who could do better than I do, I might consider trying them...but even here in NYC...I found that my prints are better than any lab can give me...

I thought I would share my recent photo processing experience:
I just recieved my photos back from York Photo, who a friend suggested to me, and the prints are stellar!! :D
I was a little nervous, especially at 10 cents for 4X6's. They are better than the prints that I have recieved in the past from Shutterfly! I would definitely recommend them. These are the first prints from my XT and I am extremely pleased. I like them even better than the shots from my S2....JTL had me a little nervous!
