Which Ultra Zoom???

I need help deciding on an ultra zoom. I'm looking at the Canon Powershot S3 and the Sony DSC H2 (maybe the H5). I'm also open to other suggestions. I want to spend no more than $500. My primary camera issue is taking pictures at gymnastics meets which are generally in big warehouse type buildings with flourescent lighting. You are generally shooting a good distance away and are NOT allowed to use a flash. Any thoughts on which camera would best handle this tricky situation??? Many thanks!

Fuji S9500 maybe? That's the only one with better than average Low light shooting.

I prefer the S2/3 way more than the Hx.

Do you mean Fuji S9000? I've never heard of an S9500. The Fuji S5200, Pana FZ7, and TZ1 are cheaper and smaller zooms with high ISO for low light shooting w/out a flash.

I've been trying to decide between the FZ7 and the TZ1. I have a dslr but find it's left home a lot. I need something for vacations and family events.

Is one better indoors with flash than the other?
