Canon vs. Sony

Hi All,

In the market for a new camera. I'm looking for a digital p&s camera with my main concern being the quality of photos. I usually take pics of vacations, outings, people etc. Typical amateur stuff.

My choices were:
Sony DSC-W70 or W100
or
Canon SD630 or SD700

What do you guys recommend? I liked the W70 and SD630 because they were smaller but won't mind going for the W100 or SD700 if they're worth the upgrade. Secondly, which brand is the better one?

Canon is simply better than the camera business, because they do what they are best at -- photo and video.

I would choose the SD700 over everyone of them -- IS is important for still subjects.

For subcompacts, I think the Canon SD's are over priced and Sony is a better buy because they are cheaper. I think Casio's are the best buy.
