When opening a photo file in ps cs2 the ORF (RAW) files document size is 6.11 x 8.15 cm. at 314 resolution. In jpeg it's 20.71 x 15.33 cm. at 314 res. Why is this? Does this mean if I want to print the RAW file (after transfering to TIFF) that I would have to scale the print size up by a good 300 % to get the same dimensions as the jpeg version. Doesn't this make for an inferior print seeing that your blowing up the size by more than 300% ? I can't seem to make sense of these numbers. Could someone please explain.

Unfortunately, this isn't related specifically to Olympus. It's a matter to do with the way programs handle resolution. I wouldn't worry about it unless you're actually seeing a difference in the prints. The best advice I can give you is to use Qimage for printing and forget about the crazy resolution numbers.

I would recommend just resetting the resolution to say 200-300, you should be able to get acceptable prints, out of most printers, as low as 200.
