Hi, I am expecting my new FZ20 in the post today! We have our sons basketball game later this evening & I have always had some trouble with pics in that lighting. Are there suggestions as to what good settings would be to improve my pictures?
Thanks!

hi :)
simple answer use the sports mode with flash.. mind fingers on top near flash
but go early get a good seat... take test shots.. use tripod or somthin steady
cos camera gets heavy.. antishake will save you :)

and find spot focusing mode 2 use that.. point at faces.
get a focus lock then hold the button half way
reframe ie choose a shot .. holding it half way
then press
it stays in focus.. its easy.. you`ll be great after 5 mins.. haha
lots of zoom there so use it.. be bold.. :D

=================================================
only if you want ...
if the color of pics is bad adjust the white balance due to strip lights etc..
find White balance setting change to halogen, or flash maybe,,,
reset to auto if no good..
you can toggle col balance on back .. up then 1 notch etc t=you see the affect straight away..

thinkin on my feet here lol..

look here
http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/panasonic/dmc_fz20-review/index.shtml
search for
Scene 1, Scene 2
read that but basically.. you can select 2 modes
lets say sports and a night mode...

or
or maybe use a movie mode.. not stills
you have 2 types
15 frames per sec acceptable quality
or 30 fps better quality.. but less time
it indicates that on the viewer..
but pan slowly keep it on 2 mins etc .. or u get snatches only..
you cant rezoom once its on so jus pan it sl..o ...w....l.....y

film icon is on top for this
if you do this dont delete cos they look like still pics but they whole movies ok
go home and transfer to pc

or do that movies next time... not both unless you have 2 large cards

good luck
lets see some plz
