Sports Action Shots

I wanted to try my luck with some action shots so I got with some friends and told them to get out there skateboards. Here are a few that I like the most.

Not bad. What settings on your camera did you use to take this?

The top one was in Sports mode with the auto shutter. The others were all with manual settings. The top three were shot with a Sigma 55-200 f4.0-5.6 and the bottom two where shot with my 17.5-45 Zuiko and the FL-36 flash. The only post prossesing for the bottom four was exp corection and cropping in PS Elments 4.0

I like action photos, but I wish I had a faster lens.

Took these at my kid's Cub football match the other weekend - I have managed to get some nice colour shots on the S2 but was a bit cloudy on this occasion so Black & White was more forgiving!

Ok, so whats the best settings for taking in action photos, i really like to take photos of sportbikes in action, i have been using mostly the auto settings and the sport mode, but i know there have got to be better settings for better quality pics. Olympus E-300 with 40-150mm lens.
