Hey I hope you can help me out. I am teenager and I am looking into buying a new digital camera. For the most part, I will be taking pictures of friends and such at achool, games, dances, birthdays, vacations etc..

I currently have an olympus camedia c-50, which is 5.0 megapixels. I am not sure if I want to upgrade to the new olympus camera or go for a canon.

Budget

* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera? max about $400
Size

* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you? fairly small preferable small enough to fit in a pocket or small purse

Features

How many megapixels will suffice for you? 5.0 +

* What optical zoom will you need? Standard

* How important is “image quality” to you? fairly important 8/10 (it has to look good)

Do you care for manual controls? Not important

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for? Friends, vacations etc..

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not? Yes. I usually print 4x6, I do enjoy having big 8x10s on my wall

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos? yes

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos? yes

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate? I'm interested in olympus and canon

Are there particular models you already have in mind? the new olympus stylus 720sw && Canon PowerShot SD550 Digital ELPH

Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks again

They both sound equally good. I like the 720 SW shock-proof feature. A review is here: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2006_reviews/stylus720_pg5.html

But you could get a Casio Z120, Z705, or Sony P200, W50 for about $100 less.
