Hello again,

I have been searching for the best tripod for creating the 360 degree virtual images and am having trouble figuring out which would be best. The camera I have is a Canon A620 and I am unsure what tripods will fit this camera or do all tripods fit all cameras (sorry if that sounds stupid but have little knowledge of cameras) as it seems I need a special tripod head to ensure the nodal point of the lense rotates correctly.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again,

Matt

The tripod mount of most (if not all) cameras is the same size, but to be certain you can always take your camera to the store where you want to buy the tripod to try it out.

I see that you are using a point and shoot camera rather than a dSLR. In that case you may not need a special tripod head to ensure that the front element is the rotation point, because the difference between the rotation point and the front element of the lens is minimal (when I took these pictures in the other thread with my D-50 it was more of an issue).

I think you should look for a tripod with a head that allows you to rotate while ensuring that the camera remains level. So, in this case I guess a ball head would not work.

To answer your question in the other thread (I'm sorry, only now I noticed it), I think you will definitly need more shots. I cannot give you a definite number, just make sure there's plenty of overlap between your pictures. By the way, its best to hold your camera in portrait mode (that is vertically) so that you will also have a bit more range vertically.
