It's a lovely sunny morning here and the moon is bright in the sky so out came the S2, max zoom (432 mm equivalent), IS shoot only, manual focus to infinity, ISO50, and voila - a rather nice moon shot.
Next for a laugh, thinking my S2 was about to get trounced, I brought out my DSLR - Nikon D100 with a 70-300 zoom (450 mm equivalent), no IS, manual focus to infinity, ISO200 (lowest setting), and horrors - a blurry white blob !
The results were the exact opposite of what I expected - my DSLR just got trounced by my S2 !
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I will never buy another non-IS long lens or megazoom camera.
