Any suggestions on a budgeted priced wide angle lens for the D70? I was looking at the Sigma and Tokina, the reviews seem to point toward the Tokina, but looking for last thoughts.
The Nikon 10.5 is too much $$ for now, as nice as it looks.
Thanks

Both are good, the Tokina is better but has more chromatic aberations. You can't really go wrong with either.

Hello --
I am interested in the same thing. Can you tell me the two lense types? (Model numbers).
Thank you. :)

Tokina Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X Pro DX (the one I have), and the Sigma AF 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX HSM DC.
The Tokina is the sharpest of the two (very sharp, outperforms wide angle single focus lenses), have great contrast and colour. But it has chromatic aberations. Less disortion overall than the Sigma . Great lens all in all.
The Sigma goes a bit wider, it is a little bit slower aperture wise, it vignets more, so you have to stop down more in critical situations, and its AF motor is totally quiet (the Tokina motor is very silent though).
Both are around the same price.
