500mm sigma lens wont work?

Just got a maxxum 7d and all my old Minolta lenses work fine except my 500mm mf sigma. Im getting a lens not attached on the screen.

Well, older Sigma lenses can give kind of wrong electrical signals to the new bodies (I guess they are a bit more choosy), contact Sigma to see if the offer an upgrade for that particular lens.
