Has anybody tried to adapt the Zone system for use with a digital camera and has anybody combined it with the ANSI version of the Sunny 16 system?

Although I used the Zone System extensively with film, I haven't taken it to any sort of formal level with digital. But it sure made short work of understanding the quirks of digital exposure range, not to mention the adjustments in Photoshop like Levels and Curves.
Interesting that with film I used to use the old rule of thumb of exposing for the shadows and developing for the highlights, but with small-sensor digicams it's the opposite - protect those highlights!
As for the Sunny-16 rule, I can't say I ever used it (especially since digicams rarely go smaller than f8). Light meters work really well... :p
