I have just had a problem with a Sandisk UltraII 1.0GB card. While taking pictures, I received a "this card cannot be used" error. Now I cannot even get my computer to recognize it. Is it toast? Can I recover the pictures? Anyone?

I bought it at Costco.

Should go back for an exchange or refund. Probably just a "bad apple".

I ave this same problem. After shooting for 2 days, my battery gone flat and after changing to a new battery, the camera gives me "this card can not be used".
When I try the SD card with card reader in PC, a window pop up saying that my SD card is not formatted.
I have read thru other forum and found that memory can give problem after low battery situation.
I wonder, is that a camera problem or the SD card problem ???
How to recover (if it is still possible) my images ???
Please advise.
Thanks & Regards

Your card probably got corrupted when the camera lost power. The problem is now on your memory card. Fortunately, it's probably not badly corrupted and the many file recovery programs out there should be able to retrieve your images. Do a search for "file recovery".
Once that is finished, reformat your card in the camera and things should be OK.
