Just want to know your feedback on this custom function feature. Do you find using hte * button to lock AF better than the general half pressed shutter method? I've just made the switch to try it out. Not very used to it. But am giving it a try as it separates AF and AE controls which can be good.
I just started using the * button method and think I like it better. I'm doing a long shoot tomorrow and will use it all day to see if I really like using it...

Sometimes. It does take getting used to though and it's trouble if I don't reset it back to normal when my missus wants to use it.:o

I started using it a month or so after getting my first DSLR.
I love it! too bad it confuses the hell out of everyone, so I have to swap it everytime I allow someone to snap away.

I would never go back. It's better I think, for more experienced photographers.
How do you get the AF lights to show up again? It doesn't work in this mode I think, but I switched it back to zero, just to see, and they never come up anymore. Yes, the menu item for it is on too. Sorry to threadjack...

Ever watch a guy with a young baby share his camera? Friend asks to hold the baby he practically throws the kid at them.... asks to use their camera you'd think it WAS the baby :p
