Today I went to try the XT and realize there's an auto sensor clean in its menu... and now i'm wondering why ppl keep sending their cameras to Canon for just cleaning their sensor? Sorry I'm a noob, but just wondering why? or does the auto cleaning do no good to the sensor?

Also, anyone using the Giottos Rocket Air Blower? Is it a good buy for such a cheap price? Here's the link from B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=318545&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation

...

Where did you find an "auto sensor clean" There is an OPTION to flip up the mirror to clean the sensor but there is no automatic sensor cleaning.

The blower rarly gets the dust which has attached itself to the AA filter.

I have a similar one made by Canon (got it for free from Canoga Camera with a lens purchase.) It works fine. Never had any problems cleaning my sensor with it. Don't think you'll need more (though Tim is right: there is NO auto sensor clean on the XT. That menu item just locks the mirror up while you blow on it.) :)
