I have been looking on the Kodak web site and noticed that they sell refurbished cameras with a 1 year warranty. Would this be a "wise" purchase or would I do better to spend more $$ on a new camera?
What would you do?
The camera I'm interested in the is Z740.

I have bought to date from the KODAK ebay store 2 DX6490's, one printer dock and one DX7590. All are in perfect condition and look like new. If you go to ebay, search KODAK take the time to look the pages over. You will find yourself a camera that you can bid on from KODAK, or you can buy now and pay more.

The Kodak CX4300 I had a couple years ago was purchased as a refurb and I had no problems the entire time I had it. I actually was able to sell it to upgrade...rather than have to toss it like the fate that befalls many other P&S digicams.

I bought a refurbished Nikon D50 from an online website with a good reputation. If it weren't for the fantastic price and the "reconditioned" sticker on the box, I would have thought it was brand new. I'd say save the cash and go for it.

Overstock.com has refurbished Nikon D50 bodies for $430. Occasionally they have a 8% off any item + $1 shipping which makes it around $400 shipped.
90 day warranty.
