I'll start a fresh thread on it once I get some PP done but it was actually too dark for even the 50mm at f/1.4. Focus just would NOT happen. I had to resort to using flash. No colored strobes flicking about anyway so no real loss in ambience. Ended up using the 24-70 for the zoom convenience.

on a serious note It'd been real interesting to know if it would have made a difference. I can tell you just messing around the house in very low lighting it does for me compared to my XT.

I honestly don't think it would have. There wasn't enough contrast. Imagine dimming your lights to the point where they're almost off. It was so dark you couldn't see the floor even if you were sitting on it. Besides, the 50 was too long anyway. I woulda needed a 28 or 30mm for most shots. I used 24mm most of the time, and zoomed to 70mm for details. I bounced my flash for minimal shadows but unfortunately killed even what little ambience there was.
