Sorry for the pics being somewhat noisy and out of focus. It was nigh IMPOSSIBLE to focus the ones that were zoomed way in, and the ones that weren't so far in were very difficult, and probably could have been done better (just not with the equipment I was using, I don't think.)

I was using my Canon S1 IS, a cheap tripod (ended up using it more as a bi-/monopod), a Bushnell 8-24x Binocular, a large trampoline (I'm at a friends' house), and the moon. Had to wait till almost 2am for the moon to rise to take the shots.

Does anyone know of a way to get a lens added onto my S1 IS? I like the concept of what BowerR64 did with his S2 IS (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18941), but I'd like a little more reach.

One that lets in enough light to handhold most daylit shots would be really nice, too. For reference, with the stock lens, I can usually handhold as slow as 1/8 sec at full 10x (380mm 35mm equiv, 58mm actual, 3 stops for IS would be 1/8") on my S1 IS.
However, with the near-5-digit (looks like it's WELL INTO the 5-digit range) 35mm equivalent focal lengths I'm looking to use, I'll probably be using a tripod some of the time, or some type of camera/lens support.

So does anyone have suggestions on how to attach something to my camera that should get me pics as clear as you normally get with 10x optical, but with the extreme telephoto as posted in the examples? (I really don't want to drag Hubble around with me.)

Also, what about doing telephoto macro with this lens? I would like to be able to use it to take frame-filling shots of dangerous bugs' heads from a safe distance.

Also, if you guys don't mind, I'll link to a thread I created a few days ago asking about battery chargers (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19054) - it's seen no activity yet and I'm wondering if I put it in the wrong forum, although that IS the batteries forum - just inactive.

I have a canon DC58 its a 1.5X and when i got it i didnt know there are 4 versions of the DC58. The one i got is for the S1 so it doesnt work for mine.

it needs the S1-58mm adapter though. Its still in good condition wih the bag and all that stuff. Ide sell it for $50. shipped. Ide like to keep it but it just doesnt work on my camera, its just a tad out of focus.

They make a DC58, DC58A, DC58B and a DC58N. The one i have is the DC58, and i need the DC58B.

I have the last one on the list

Wait, no, no nevermind, this one is for the "G" series. It probobly wont work for yours either. Im not sure wich on will work on yours? maybe the 58N?

Look in your manual, they make a converter for your camera im sure of it. That would put your camera at 580mm optical.

Yes they make a TC-DC52B, which is 1.6x - that would bring it to 608mm. However, that's not enough. I'd really like to get to at least 3000 to 5000mm or longer if possible (10,000mm to 30,000mm or more?).

I was looking at Canon's website (and Bushnell cause I know they make long-range optics - any other suggestions?) and they (Canon) have a 18x50 IS binocular. Except for the fact that it probably won't directly attach to the camera or the camera won't directly attach to it, I wonder how well it would work?
I know a few of the pics are dark, but did you see the lower ones? That's about how much magnification I'd like (or something like that), but with clearly detailed pictures if possible.

Look into an "F-adapter" they make these to fit on a telescope.
