I've read the manual several times but still cannot get the date to stamp on all of my photos automatically. All I seem to be able to do is add it on ad hoc basis with the DPOF settings.

There must be a way to do this, but I haven't figured it out. Any tips?

There is no way to do it directly on the photos. There are third-party programs you could use to extract the date from the EXIF data, and then incorporate that as a digital imprint on your images. Here's a link I found to "Snap Touch," (http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/Graphics_Editors/SnapTouch.html) through a Google search. Check it out, it may solve your problem easily.

John, thanks for the info. Will the date print on the back of the photo when I get it developed? I just want to make sure it's somewhere on it.

I'll take a look at the site you recommended as well.

I think that depends upon your vendor. When I get shots printed by Shutterfly (http://www.shutterfly.com), they do print the dates on the back of photos. I don't have experience with other vendors, though.
