so i want to buy a Nikon 50mm F/1.8 for my nikon d70s

I want this lense which is reviewed on DC's forums: link (http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showpost.php?p=90787&postcount=2)

so i was looking at adorama and B&H getting ready to buy it and im a little confused if there is a difference between the lens review above and these two that the sites offer:
adorama link (http://www.adorama.com/NK5018AFDU.html?searchinfo=50mm%201.8&item_no=3)
B&H link (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=247091&is=USA&addedTroughType=search)

the SKU#'s don't match, which one is the one i want/ is recomended or are the exactly the same thing. I don't want gray market or one that wolnt' work with my d70s

also does this lens have AE? i can't tell.

These are both the same lens (Nikon #2137). It is possible that the SKU's show an import vs. USA waranty. It's probably best to ask. I know that Norman Camera is USA waranty only, so you might want to give them a try as well:

Both lenses are AF-D type lenses, and it works great on a D70. Just remember to set and lock the manual aperture ring at f/22 (red numbers) as the camera controls this function on an AF camera. this is operated manually on older MF cameras.

so the camera changes the Fstop, but it needs to have it locked in the f22 position. I assume the camera drive a motor to actually change the physical apature size, not somehow compensate with sensor adjustment. could i have it so i can change the apature on the lense myself or would that hurt the camera/lens?

anyone have an idea on the differences of the SKU, i want USA warrenty. i would go with that site you suggested but i also wanna pick up a Holga medium format camera to play with :) and they don't carry it

That's just the way things work now... quite a few modern lenses don't even have aperture rings... the lens remains wide open until you fire the shutter, when a lever in the camera body wil close the lens to the required aperture setting immediately prior to the shutter opening.

I wouldn't worry about SKU numbers: both Adorama and B&H are highly reliable retailers, and both are quite open about which of their items are gray vs US market ... in fact right now the Adorama link you posted is showing the US lens as back-ordered with a link to the gray market lens at a lower price on a separate page.

The manufacturer part numbers are the same, so they are the same lens. Retailer SKU numbers are set by the retailer for their own inventory control. It would be purely coincidence if B&H and Adorama had the same SKUs.
