Nikon CoolPix 8800

I have read-up on the 8800 and am interested in purchasing it.
I have noticed that the units are no longer manufactured and a lot of the units that exist are refurbished...what is/was wrong with the 8800?

Too expensive for it's limitations - the falling price of DSLR's, particularly the D50 undercut it to the point where it was no longer viable.

But..if you can find one at a good price..it's a awesome camera. It takes great photos and is easy to work with:)
