Is the resolution sufficient for 8x10s?

Sure, if you don't crop excessively. Many FZ1 owners (including yours truly) have found that we can get a good 8 x 10 print from only 2 mp. From 3 mp it should be no problem at all.

I feel that 8 by 10 from 3 megs is no problem at, however I you will get far better results if you make good use of a photo editing program and make sure your file is properly sharpened for this print size and the contrast is set properly.

I am very confident although I have not yet had the chance to try, that well processed fz3 files could be printed to A3 plus which is over double the size of an 8 by 10.

As a little aside many people when thinking of print at home options are relating print quality to prints made on printers of a couple of years or so ago. Print quality has improved immensely in the past two years and a late model printer can often produce great prints from far less megapixels than say a three year old printer can. And this even applies to cheap printers as well.

Hope it helps

Last night I decided the best way to find out would be to try it. I downloaded one of the images taken from the FZ3 and put it on a CompactFlash card from my old camera using my card reader. As I don't have a decent photo printer at this time, I took it out to Kmart and used their Kodak digital printing station.

The 8x10 looks great.
