Sorry if this is a noob question, but I can't seem to figure this out.

Just bought Canon A620 and a Transcend 80X 1Gb SD card. Now, according to the manual and the web specs, A620 is supposed to be able to do continuious shooting at 1.7fps with a high speed card, which according to some web reviews is 60x or higher. The camera manual does not mention 3rd party SD cards, only that you need a canon "super-high-speed" card.

The problem is that in the "drive mode" menu I do not see an option for "continuous shooting". It is simply not there. I tried different combination of image sizes and compression, and the selection does not appear.

Is it an issue with a 3rd party SD card? or is there something i am missing.

thank you :)

It shouldn't be a card issue. I have non-Canon cards in my SD300 and have no problems in burst (continuous shooting) mode.

According to the review posted on this site, it's the "Drive" function, third down on the main menu.

On my camera (A70) it is in the manual mode section and it shows as a white square, then the next setting is burst mode wich is indicated as 3 white boxes one infront of the other (didnt know what it ment till i looked in the manual) and after that is the timmer mode. Drive modes dont show up in auto. On my S2 the drive mode is in the menu. Its not part of the "function " menu and is hidden in the spot where the self timmer is.

One thing i found when shooting in burst mode is you cant get the speed with the flash on and you have to turn some of the auto stuff off. The A70 is faster if you put it in manual focus and adjust it to infinity with the AiAf off. I thought it had a limit of 3 shots when i first got it but it will shoot till i take my finger off the button. Turn replay off and turn the image size down.

Are you in full automatic mode? In many cameras you must be in some sort of manual mode to get all features.

Craft, you need to go into the function screen to set the camera to take multiple shots AND into the main menu to turn off image review.
