How to shoot fireworks?

Hi, can somebody advise me how to shoot really good photos of fireworks please? I'm using an Olympus C750 and I'm not sure which settings to use.
Should I use manual focusing?
Should I set the aperture priority?
Should I use a slow shutter speed?
Or should I set the camera to program mode and keep my fingers crossed?
Any tried and tested advise is very welcome.
