HP 945 worth it??

I just returned my Minolta Z2 because of it's horrible fuzzy pictures :mad: . Well does anybody have any thought about the HP 945? I like the 4 AA's (Cheap), Zoom, and Secure Digital card which are my preferences when buying a camera like that Z2.

I use to have a toshiba PDR 3300 and that was great but I am ready to move on to better things. I hope that someone might have any thoughts about the HP 945 before I buy. I was also thinking of gettnig a wide angle for it as well.

We own both of these digital cameras. We also returned our Z2 due to sharpness. The HP 945 produces very sharp, well focused images and it is well priced at about $360.

However, this digital camera is a battery hog and is rather picky about the batteries used in it. NIMH batteries must be at least 2400 mille amp hours in capacity. Otherwise you must use lithium AA sized batteries. This digital camera is delivered new with Everyready Lithium batteries as a part of the package. That is a huge hint to the user.

Other than the battery issue, this digital camera performs well and offers a great deal of performance and flexibility.

I too was attracted to the 945 for the batteries and SD card.

I got mine back in Jan and have not regretted a single picture taken!!

As Speaklightly commented, it's worth getting decent batteries (I've gone for Hahnel 2350mAh 1.25V - which are unbelievable!! Faily cheap too.)

I've not seen the picture quality of the Z2 but I have no complaints of the sharpness of the 945.
The build quality is sturdy and if you are looking to use filters and lenses I have found (with a little help from the internet and a bit of trial and error in my local camera shop) The FujiFilm 55mm adapter ring (AR-FX9) will screw into the thread by chrome ring on the camera housing, you can then add 55mm filters (and therefore I assume wide angle lenses) without hindering the movement of the optical zoom. Note: you will also need to buy a 55mm lenscap as the hp one clips to the moving part not the chrome ring.
