PLEASE HELP! memory card problem =(

well first of all my memory card is the sandisk 512 mb, and what happened was i was having a hard time uploading my (PROM =[ ) pictures online, as i plugged my camera in my computer, nothing showed up. well after trying several more times after that.. i got frustrated & checked out the memory card in case it was what was causing problems, nothing. then i transferred it into my sisters camera & no pictures showed up. and so i kinna just gave up, put my memory card back in & decided to just look at the pictures through my camera but all of a SUDDEN, my camera would NOT show anything, it said, "MEMORY CARD NOT FORMATTED" "FORMAT NOW..warning: all pictures will be deleted" =[ HELP! what happened? this wont go away. i dont wanna format it. do i still have all of my pictures? what do i do! PLEASE HELP ME! =(

If you have a card reader or a friend with one, try using that. It might work. On occasions that I get a message similar to yours, I remove the card, wait a few seconds, and insert it again. It usually works. Don't reformat until you are sure all is lost.

If that doesn't work there is card recovery software available you might try,some free. Try www.softwarepatch.com/software/smartrecovery.I cant vouch for this particular software not having used it but it is worth a look.If not there is also commercial software available-any search on google for'memory card recovery software' or similar will bring up a number of companies trying to get your business.Its up to you to decide if the cost justifies the benefit.
