Can someone give pros and cons between
Tamron AF28-200MM F/3.8-5.6 XR Aspherical (IF) Macro (lens construction group/elements 14/10) Price USD129
Sigma 18-125mm Price USD 215
In fact I want to go for Sigma but Tamron is much cheaper almost a half
Well, do you like landscape shooting?
if you like it, you will miss the wide angle of the sigma. if you want 200 mm at the tele end may be should consider the sigma 18-200 DC which is even better than the sigma 18-125 DC. OK it's a bit more expensive ;)

I like the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 but sure could use a longer lens sometimes, thinking of picking up the 18-125 or 18-200 Sigma to get me by until I can justify the cost of a Sigma 70-200 f2.8... Do you really think the 18-200 Sigma is better than the 18-125 and why... I have seen photos done with the 18-125 and they look great, perhaps you think the 18-200 is better because of the longer range or is there something else about it?
Thanks for your time...:)

Well, it's not my own thinking or personal experience but that's what i read in the french photo magazines, the new 18-200 is globally a bit sharper (but a bit soft at tele end). and i had the confirmation when i saw a confrontation between sigma 18-125 and 18-200 made by some amateurs in a french forum with a canon 350D. a japanese site have also posted this kind of test between the sigma 18-125, the sigma 18-200 and the tamron 18-200. conclusions converge the sigma 18-200 is better than the former 18-125.
but i have to say that many owners of sigma 18-125 are very pleased with this one (but sometimes you can get a bad copy).
