Hello everyone,

I wondering if there are digital cameras out there that you can put on a tripod, connect it to a computer with usb, firewire (or something else) and then have full control it's functions (aperture, white balance, trigger, picture download etc)?

Can someone help me in this matter? Any help would be great!

Many thanks!

This webpage might be along the lines you are suggesting... but maybe not.

Hi Don,

thanks for the link.
I'm wondering how they interface the camera in their system...
They support Canon "Powershot A" and "G" models and also Olympus "C"-models.
What makes these cameras so special?
Powershot-Cams seem to have a IR-remote control, but Olympus does not. Maybe these cams are controllable over the usb-port, but that's just guessing.
hmmm...

EDIT:
I just found a great link!
I think this solves all my questions!
thanks

Canon has software with most models that lets you control thme over USB. They have had it for years, my first Canon digital, the powershot A5, had this feature already.
