I just purchased my first digital camera after MANY months of researching and second-guessing myself (much to my husband's frustration!). I have yet to purchase more memory or rechargeable batteries, but I did test it out today with the factory memory and batteries included in the box. The pictures turned out great, and the kids love to be able to see themselves on the screen afterwards!
I've been reading the posts on this Canon thread, and I admit I'm somewhat paranoid about something going wrong with the camera (ie. 'black screen', 'E18 Error', etc). My brother has the A85, and hasn't had any problems with his, which is one of the reasons I went with Canon. I can only hope my experiences with this camera are positive because I wouldn't be able to afford a new one for a long time.
I will enjoy it, and I'm glad I've bought a camera that will let me learn and grow with it. Thanks to Jeff K. for the excellent reviews on this sight. His reviews were one of the main sources of information for me, and they were invaluable! :)
