My digital camera and camcorder are both very old. I am planning on updating my digital camera first, but I think even doing this, that the video quality I can get now in the digital camera will be better than I currently have in my camcorder (although I know no where are good as new camcorder).
Anyway, I wanted to know if someone could explain to me the differences in the movie formats (AVI, MPEG, MPEG-4) and the resolutions 320, 640x408 etc, and then the 15 fps and 30 fps.
Which one is the best quality? Are there any modes that are decent quality just for the family users to take on vacation, but will allow a decent amount of time to be recorded on a 1gb memory card? 30 minutes? 60 minutes? or are they more like 3 to 5 minutes?
