Point focus on the S2?

Is there a setting on the S2 that i can pinpoint what i want it to auto focus on? sometimes it will focus on the wrong subject and what i want to be in focus it has focused past. Im not sure what setting i need.

Press the Set button and then start moving up/down/left/right with the directional pad. A rather useful feature.

You might also consider spot-metering at that point or not. That's up to you.

Thanks, i wish there was a spot focus i could point it on certin little things. Like a bug on a branch or somthing.

Look into Manual-Focus on p.111 in the Use Guide.

Ive tried many times to use manual focus i need to use the camera longer i guess because i can never get it as good as auto. But say im wanting to focus on a bird in a tree threw some limbs i want to focus on just the bird even though a leaf is further near the camera or somthing else is in the way. If the focus was a dot i could pinpoint the focus and the rest would not get in the way. The box is a bit to large sometimes.

Isn't there somekind of auto correct with manual focus? Where you attampt to manual focus as much as possible then, the camera goes in and gets it right on.

I don't know where it is in the manual, but I've read a lot of people talk about it...

Using the Manual Focus in Combination with the Auto Focus

The camera automatically searches for a more suitable focusing point from the current manually focused location.
1. Focus the camera with the manual focus.
2. Press the SET button.
The camera focuses automatically to a more accurate focusing point near the current focusing point.
