Budget

* I would like to spend no more then $400 on the Camera it's self.

Size

*I would like something easy to carry aroung without having to have a bag or look like a tourist :D .

Features

* I would like atleast a 5+ megapixel camera

* Standard optical zoom is fine anything better is a plus

* Image quality I would like to be a 10 duh, or atleats as high as my budget can get.

* I would like some manual controls such as white balance, shutter speed, color effects, ect. Amateur stuff with room to grow.

General Usage

* I would use the camera for mostly everyday stuff travel, car shows, camping, nights out on the town.

* I would make prints no bigger then 8X10s

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
* Well I guess about 50% of the time

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
* Not so much but would like to have the features if needed

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
* Everytime I find something I think will work I get confused by other models with a couple more options, or I have to trade one function for another.
I really want to spend my money on something that will be good for atleast
2+ years. Now I know that is hard to say when you talk about electronics but when spending money on something you would like to get the best for your needs with room to grow.I am currently using a Fuji finepix 2650and have gone grew above and beyond anything this can do. I like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9, Fuji FPIX F10, Canon powershot SD550 Elph. I would appreciate all opinions and like to say THANKS in advance for the opinion you may share.

If you are looking at something good for around $400 you should take a look at the canon S2 and the Sony H1. Both very capable cameras. I would think the H1 is better as I own one. Other's might think otherwise
