S3 help

I owned an S2 for about 6 months (got stolen in Barcelona on New Year's Eve) so I'm looking to replace it and I'm interested in the S3. I've read on a couple of websites that the S3 has the 9-point AiAF (mediocre focussing in low-light with the S2): just to make sure I've contacted Canon's tech support. First response was 'sorry, this feature is not available on the S3' but the second response was 'yes, 9-point AiAF is a feature on the S3'. Not sure what to belive anymore.

Anybody knows for sure what the truth is?

3rd paragraph from the bottom. I'm a little confused, also, that it isn't plastered all over the various Canon sites.
