Hi, I bought a new S2 IS and found sonething strange...I am little new with the dig cam...

I tried the zoom in Auto mode and found that many times the screen is completely blurred...you cant see anything...If you take zoom back to normal and then try it again...it works...I have attached 2 snaps for these 2 situations...

morover if you notice that the blurred snap is of onlu 57 KB while for the same settings on the next attempt the snap is of 148 KB.

Am I doing something wrong here or is this a problem with my camera piece...

You've got to be something like 3 feet (or more...should be in the manual) from what you're trying to focus on when fully zoomed. I think that's all it is.

I am going to assume that you are trying to photograph some kind of fabric and you are standing somewhat closer than you should be to the object, Try to use the macro mode and see how ya go. Are you shooting indoors or out?Does the camera have problems focusing on something in the distance like 50+ meters?

Thanks for replying...

I even tried from more than 50+ meter...The main problem is that the when I am zooming quickly the screen is blurred...If I am zooming slowly, it's fine....Moreover when I am reaching from 1x to 12x quickly and screen is blurred, I am clicking the shoot button lightly, it is focusing properly with that green light (square) on screen...and then it is displaying fine. So I am worried if this is a common problem or is this with my camera piece???

It’s something all autofocus digital cameras do. If you zoom quickly it has know time to focus till you stop or slowly zoom.
