Edit: Any input on where to get a SIGMA 18-200 and pics if you have them would be appreciated. I need a good lens for baseball, so that is why I thought this option would be a good choice. Less changing of the lens to reach the near and far shots.

Below is one choice I found:

And is this the same lens for less:

I am going to buy the D50 body somewhere and then I would like to purchase a 18-200mm lens so if you could give me some advice on a VERY affordable choice that takes decent photos it will be a good starting point as I am a beginner. I can purchase a second more expensive later. My total budget at this point for BODY & Lens is $1000. Again I know that is not very much, but for those of us who are financially challenged I think that its a good place to start. I was thinking the 18-200mm would make it easier at baseball games, not so much changing of the lens for near and far. I have never owned a dSLR so please be easy on me.

From what I have read the Tamron seems to be the least favored of the three main 18-200 lenses (Nikon, Tamron, Sigma). If you can't afford the Nikon 18-200VR then it appears that the Sigma is a better lens than the Tamron for about the same money.
