I'm Shopping for a camera such as the Canon A620. One feature I'm interested in is a "Fill Flash" mode. I tried to find it by reading the user manuals, but it is starting to get confusing with all the cameras I've been studying. Can anyone tell me which Canon camera(s) similar to the A620 has a Fill Flash mode?

Can you explain what fill flash does? there is a setting called red eye and what it does is pop 2 flashes first one fires about half the intensity then the second one fires at full intensity timmed with the shutter. IMO this lights up the subject and the background and then the second flash stops the motion.
Is that what you mean by fill flash?
There is another setting called a curtin, there is curtin A and curtin B one fires at the start of the open shutter, the second fires at the end of the opening.

Do you mean forcing flash when the camera would otherwise not flash, to "fill in" the foreground? If so, all of the Canons (and probably all reasonabe cameras) have that feature.

There is a setting on it called "Flash output" this can be adjusted along with the forced flash to fill in along with other lighting.

I don't believe the Canon A620 has a "Fill Fash" mode. A discussion of Fill Flash is explained at the following link. http://www.popphoto.com/article.asp?section_id=4&article_id=706
I think I am asking for too much in an entry-level camera.

It looks like you can adjust the flash intensity on the A620, so you can achieve what you are looking for. You many not have as much control as with a hot shoe mounted speedlite, but you do have fill flash.

That along with some defusers you should be able to dial it in with some testing. Mine only has 3 settngs, light medium and full intensity flash.

If you set the flash to "on" (not auto) the camera should be in forced-flash mode (this should approximate fill-flash).

There are many different settings on the A series canons specialy the upper wnd A series like the A620. If you pick the right mode on the dial you can pretty much pull off anything you want. You seem to know all the tricks so with what you know and the power of this camera you should be able to get what you want out of it.
It is considered a P&S but IMO its a little more advanced then a P&S i have an A70 wich is a few years old and it has some really advanced features and manual settings on it then an average P&S user would need. The 620 takes these features a few steps forward along with the updated quality.
