I've been using this cf card with my Rebel XT for about 6 months now.
Recently I've been having problems with the card (?) communicating with my computer. Here is what happens: the computer shows that all my images (usually 200 at a time) are uploading. but when I go into the file, only 3 or 4 are actually there. My fiance can put the card into his HP printer which has a card reader, and they will all upload with no problem then. I have previously had zero problems uploading as many as 400+ images.
My fiance says I need to connect the usb to my camera and computer, turn on the camera, and THEN turn on the computer. He says this is a typical problem with communication. But - I have a feeling that could cause something bad to happen to my precious camera.
I have a cf card reader (firewire) on order.
Is it really just a communication issue, or could there be something wrong with the camera itself ?
