Hi guys

wonder if any one can help me.

i am new to this forum so i apologise if this thread is in the wrong section but it said that te lenses forum was closed. please move this if it needs to go elsewhere.

im very interested in the tamron 70-300mm ld lens for nikon and the sigma 70-300apo macro DG lenses.

does any one have any recomendations. i know they are both consumer budget lenses but all i can afford heh. or is there something else that would be better? i am going on a cat photo shoot soon and want something for that other than my 18-55 kit lens, with a budget of £160 max really.

i was thinking of the sigma asi have heard it doesnt suffer form purple fringeing quite as much as the tamron does.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Go for the Sigma 70-300 APO DG. It is the best of the 70/75-300 class lenses if you do not count the Canon 70-300 IS USM version.
You will not be disappointed, it is a better choice than either Nikon version too.
