hey everyone...missed y'all lately but been w/o internet at home for awhile.

i noticed the other day that there are small black lines in my d50's viewfinder. for example...when the center focus area is selected there is a faint black line going from the center rectangle down to the bottom of the viewfinder. when the bottom is selected, the line goes from the bottom rectangle to the bottom of the viewfinder. when the left box is selected it goes from the box to the left of the viewfinder. when the right is selected it goes from the right box to the right side of the viewfinder. and when the top is selected (if i remember correctly) it goes from the top box to the top of the viewfinder.

sorry for all of that...just wanted to be thorough. this occurs with all of my lenses. i've swapped batteries and resetted the camera. the pictures i'm taking are uneffected and it's possible that this is normal and i've just never noticed b/c the lines are relatively faint. i can see them mostly when the subject is pretty light (white or off-white esp).

can anyone confirm if their d50 does the same thing???

thanks!!

Please please please now don't ask about your camera rattling when you shake it. That also is perfectly normal (it's the ball bearing that controls orientation).
Line in the viewfinder and rattling would have to be the two most asked questions about D50's. :D

granted, i didn't search the posts for the answer to the line question....been having internet issues and honestly just didn't want to take the time. but maybe it would be worth having a couple sticky topics in the nikon digi forum to cover well-known issues of d50, d70(s), d200, etc. just a thought...and that way you wouldn't have to beg :) people to not bring something up.
