1. Does 7D AS detectes panning movement and stops countering horizontal movements?

2. KM lenses(original or third party) all seems to lack USM,SSM,HSM or any of these sort. The only KM lenses that have these exisits in small numbers and are very expensive. Sigma lenses also states that minolta mounts does not includes HSM. Why this lack in USM in the minolta system?

3. As minolta systems are less popular, it is harder to find reviews and tests in the internet dedicated to KM lenses. So, is there a rough guide that i can follow while buying KM lenses?

thanks for taking you time to look at my questions. i am planning to get a KM system after having a hard time trying to get a Canon system with IS for every lens.

1. Does 7D AS detectes panning movement and stops countering horizontal movements? No, but that does not affect the pictures quality since the lens elements are always aligned (which is the problem with the Canon/Nikon systems as I understand it)

2. KM lenses(original or third party) all seems to lack USM,SSM,HSM or any of these sort. The only KM lenses that have these exisits in small numbers and are very expensive. Sigma lenses also states that minolta mounts does not includes HSM. Why this lack in USM in the minolta system?
As you noted there are only two Minolta lenses with SSM (both G's) as to why Sigma and others third party lens makers don't make SSM lenses, it is probably not cost effective for them given Minolta's small marget segment.

3. As minolta systems are less popular, it is harder to find reviews and tests in the internet dedicated to KM lenses. So, is there a rough guide that i can follow while buying KM lenses? Get the most expensive one :p or check www.Dyxum.com/lenses/ (http://www.Dyxum.com/lenses/) for lens reviews for the Minolta A mount. And for at the third party lenses, reviews (of picture quality) from other mounts ought to be valid for the A mount too.
