I really like that first image. Very nice. sharp and good colors.

A good effort, but I still think you could raise the contrast a notch to give them a bit more punch.

I'd be inclined to try and isolate one of the leaves in the first, and maybe run the limbs of the second into the corners of the image for more dynamics.

Indeed, I can see it as well. I think we are seeing more thought go into these, which isn't always easy to do because its so hard to think about other "images" your mind didn't see the first time. . . I find I struggle with this at times more so than it might appear - I don't really know how it appears. I see something thats interesting and I find it hard to look past that "Orginial Concept" or reason for that initial interest, but usually, not always, but usually, seeing a little differently will actually present a stronger photo.
